Fund Purpose

The purpose of the Supporting the Dream Legacy Fund is to award bursary grants of up to $1,500 to deserving South Okanagan amateur athletes who are aspiring to represent their community and their country at a national level or higher.

Fund Criteria
  1. Athletes that compete in Olympic, Paralympic and Special Olympic disciplines, or in appropriate cases to support athletes who compete in disciplines governed by national sport organizations that sanction international competition, are eligible to apply;
  2. Athletes must reside or train in the Okanagan, which includes communities from Osoyoos to Salmon Arm;
  3. Athletes should be competing at the National level or higher but may include Provincial level athletes competing at a Junior or Senior Nationals competition;
  4. Athletes must demonstrate a desire and plan to attain the next level of competition in their chosen sport;
  5. Athletes that receive full elite level funding from the Federal Government are not eligible for grants;
  6. Athletes should demonstrate a desire to give back to their community in a manner that suits their personality, talents, interests, and time available.
      7. Selection Committee

      Bursary grant applications will be reviewed by a 3-person selection committee.

      Application Deadline

      The annual deadline for applications is March 31st.

      *Athletes are permitted to re-apply for the grant in consecutive years.
